Building Work Begins on The Galaxy Mall in KadunaChronos Studeos
We’re sometimes asked, “What’s the best thing about being an Architect?” and possibly our top answer would be seeing a project with which we’ve been closely involved finally come to fruition.
Everyone at Chronos Studeos was therefore thrilled on January 12th 2016 when the Vice President of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo, oversaw an official ground breaking ceremony to mark the start of building work on the 2000 Housing units at the Galaxy Mall and Galleria at the Galaxy Amusement Park in Kaduna in North-West Nigeria.
Running to a total gross building area (GBA) of 13,189 square meters, the Galaxy Mall complex is the brainchild of UACN Property Development Company and will be the first shopping centre built in the state capital.
Located opposite the 44 Hospital, the Galaxy Mall project is expected to generate huge sums of money for the economy as well as numerous jobs.
So, where did we become involved?
Regular visitors to this website had a sneak preview of the Galaxy Mall via our portfolio last year as it was Chronos Studeos Architects and visualizers who were hired to produce the 3D visualizations and video animations.
And for everyone who loves seeing architectural concept videos (we know you’re out there!) we thought we’d use this opportunity to also share the video animation our team produced to give all our colleagues on this project an even more realistic view of this huge complex.
Speaking at the official ground breaking event in Kaduna, Governor Nasir el-Rufai told fellow dignitaries the Galaxy Mall will “raise the game in retail, provide cinemas for the people, and promote linkages with farmers and suppliers. That is the manner in which the malls that retail giants occupy tend to become centres of much tangible and intangible economic activity.”
The Galaxy Mall is due to open its doors to shoppers in approximately 15 to 18 months time. So, get saving now for some serious retail therapy in what we’re certain will be a welcome addition to the landscape in Kaduna State.
